Alain Chamfort is making his big comeback on stage after a well-deserved break. During an interview with the media Télégramme this Sunday, January 12, he confided that his sixteenth album would be his last. The opportunity for the singer to also make some confidences concerning his state of health since he was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2015. “How do you feel today ?“, the journalist asked him. To which the main person concerned immediately stated: I feel different from before and a little more fragile. First of all, because there are after-effects.

Alain Chamfort has to live with these after-effects on a daily basis and he confides that it is not always obvious. “I have, in fact, problems in my back, the vertebrae have been a little touched and I feel pain in my fingers”, he explains. A situation that upsets him but he assures that he has to deal with it. “But hey: at the same time, I don't let myself go”, continues Alain Chamfort before adding: “So now I do a bit of sport, I continue to have projects and not let myself be dominated by these little pains”.

Alain Chamfort: a career dictated by illness

When he was diagnosed with cancer, Alain Chamfort understood that he had to rest. If he is doing better today, he nevertheless specifies: I am, of course, less alert than before but çit does”. This is not the first time that he &openly discusses his health. In April 2024, it was in the columns of Télé-Loisirs that he had openly confided. “I am completely cured, it's in the past”, he rejoiced before returning to this fight, which he led in all discretion. “I didn't talk about it because I didn't want to attract compassion. When I was diagnosed, we heard a lot about Johnny Hallyday's,” he affirmed.

It was in 2016 that Alain Chamfort had contracted a first bone disease. “I underwent treatment and was taken care of in time by good specialists. Fortunately, everything returned to normal. My recovery was quick and today I am doing very well” , he had affirmed. Faced with Aurelie Casse in the show C l'Hebdo, he had mentioned his discretion, declaring in particular: “It wasn't hard to hide it. I didn't hide it from my family or from people who were very close to me,” he indicated before continuing:   “And me learning that so-and-so was sick too, it didn't help me. I couldn't find consolation”

Alain Chamfort: illness, a memory he had to face very early

Alain Chamfort has been confronted with illness since childhood. His parents had sent him to a health center in Hendaye to treat respiratory problems . He remembered being only “three and a half, four years old” when he had to get treatment. “My older sister was supposed to watch over me, but we were separated as soon as we arrived. À At the time, we didn't mix girls and boys, he remembered. Which deeply touched the young Alain.  “Suddenly, I find myself without my parents, without my sister, without any bearings, among nurses, diplomats, teachers, sick children, sometimes paralyzed. A horrible change,” the singer said.
