“I fell at the front”: administrative justice recognizes the link between Virginie's illness and her vaccination against Covid

Virginie Cathala has just won a victory before the administrative courts. The judges have recognised the link between her illness and the Covid vaccination she received in the middle of the pandemic. She can no longer work in her profession and the high-level athlete she once was has difficulty getting upstairs in her house in the Aude.

Virginie Cathala was a freelance nurse. The Covid vaccine four years ago wiped out her entire career. Now she has difficulty moving. Her personal and professional life have been completely turned upside down. “The vaccine was necessary because we had to fight. The risk-benefit ratio saved lives. It was a health war and now I have fallen on the front lines and I no longer have any prospects for the future.”

First link between vaccination and disease

Virginie Cathala lives with permanent pain. She has started legal proceedings with Mr. Terral, from the Béziers bar, and has just won her first victory.

“The administrative court of Montpellier has ordered the State to pay her compensation, which my client still considers insufficient. We are thinking about it, but it is important to take into account the fact that she has lost everything. Her career, her income and her family life as she had imagined it. She has nothing left to live on.”

This recognition by the court is a first in France, where the link has been made between the Covid vaccine and the onset of the disease Pots (Tachycardia syndrome postural).
