“That one, if I come across it…” : Catherine Deneuve angry against a journalist

During her interview with Vanity Fair a few days ago, Catherine Deneuve returned to this affair by launching – in the words of the journalist – into “a dry tirade against the sanctification of MeToo and some of its émuses”. The actress continues by evoking a series of articles that Le Monde had dedicated to her in August 2020.

Her relationship with cinema, love, family, feminism, and even money had been mentioned in these episodes, without Catherine Deneuve speaking to the famous media. “That one, if I meet her, I'll throw her a drink!”, the actress exclaims about the journalist, whose name she forgot. 

Catherine Deneuve interrupted by a star in the middle of an interview

One of the most lunar moments of this interview remains however the irruption of a big star of singing. While Catherine Deneuve is talking with the journalist in a Parisian restaurant, a small dog keeps barking, a few tables away. The puppy's owner then comes to their meeting to apologize. 

“Good evening Catherine. I'm sorry, I hope he doesn't disturb you. He's three months old, it's the first time I've taken him to a restaurant and he's crying. I wouldn't have to”, the latter says. “No, not at all”, Catherine Deneuve reassures her. The woman in question ? A certain Mylène Farmer. “You recognized her ?”, the actress says to her interlocutor, once the singer has left. Then she adds: “She's the singer who had so much success in the eighties, you know… ‘I-I am libertine’”.
