The Real Madrid striker, not at his best with his new club, saw his name in the “Miscellaneous” section last October. While the French team was playing international matches, he was on vacation in Sweden. Upon his return, he was accused of rape in an investigation opened by the Swedish justice system.

He describes how he experienced the situation: “I didn't expect it at all. I was surprised, I always am. These are things that come into your life that you don't see coming. I didn't get anything, no summons. The Swedish government didn't say anything.”

“We have to let justice do its job”

How did he find out he was being prosecuted? ? “When I leave (from Sweden), the case doesn't exist. When I land, there, I have the information. I have no idea who it is (the complainant). We have to let it go, let justice do its job. When it's over, everyone will do their own thing”, explains Mbappé.

A period that he says he is living serenely. “It didn't weigh on me because I never felt concerned. There was a lot of noise but I always had the same intention: to return to Madrid, concentrate on my job and see how it ends. If the police summon me ? I'll go, of course”, says the world champion striker.

With the Madrid club, he scored his ninth goal in the league against Girona (3-0) this Saturday, December 7.
