“I drank 14 beers, almost a whole pack”
Once on scene, the police noticed that the 32-year-old man was in the passenger compartment of his vehicle, drinking a beer. The firefighters, who had arrived a little earlier, explained that he was already drinking when they intervened. “Well yes, I was waiting for help. A lot of time passed between the accident and their intervention. So, I drank 14 beers, almost a whole pack”, explained the driver.
Once stopped by the police and subjected to a positive saliva test, the man also refused to get into the car for one reason: he could not smoke in the vehicle. Calmed down by his girlfriend, he finally got back into the vehicle, giving the gendarmes the finger.
An arrival at the gendarmerie that is always eventful
Once he arrived, the man also urinated in the courtyard of the gendarmerie. He was unable to blow into the breathalyzer to determine his blood alcohol level precisely. During the hearing, he again confirmed that he had drunk the 14 beers after the accident. Finally, since his blood alcohol level had not been confirmed by the breathalyzer and he claimed to have drunk after the accident, he was only sentenced to follow an awareness course and to compensate the victims and the gendarmes.
