Valérie Kaprisky opens up about her divorce in complete transparency

Now single, Valérie Kaprisky, aged 62, is already setting her conditions for a future relationship:  “If I fall in love again, it will be each in their own home”, she says.

But her family life has been very demanding and the actress has lived through dark times :  “For several years, before her passing, I took care of my mother who suffered from a serious lung disease. I went back and forth to Cannes, where she lived and where I grew up. I had sworn to her, at her request, that she would never go to a nursing home. I had to rebuild a medical team around her. When you are a caregiver and you find yourself faced with the illness, we feel helpless, we would like to do more.”

Her moving testimony on her struggle to become a mother

Unfortunately for her, life did not allow her to have children: “I still haven't gotten over not having children. When I met my ex-husband, I was 37. At first, I didn't want to put pressure on him because he had already two children”, remembers the actress, still étested.

But when the two finally wanted to conceive a child, things didn't go as planned. “Then we went through the obstacle course with injections, an insemination… It didn't work. And that impacted our life as a couple. I was menopausal at 48. Fortunately, I get along well with my stepchildren. I lived with them for twenty-two years. We have a great relationship and I hope that I will soon be able to babysit when they become parents in their turn.”
