Arriving this summer in Béziers, Emily Holterhaus, 23, 1.88 m, has found her place on and off
the field. Originally from Iowa, the Béziers number 12 quickly learned to adapt to life in the south. “Before I left, when I said I was coming to the South of France, everyone would say, “It's so beautiful there!””, she says enthusiastically.
Holterhaus, who plays outside hitter, is no stranger to challenges. A former student at the University of Northern Iowa, she played there for five seasons while also completing her studies in exercise science. “I've always enjoyed working with young athletes. “We can achieve our challenge”

The recent victory against Paris seems to have been a turning point for the group. “This success is really important for us. It comes at the middle of the season and gives us a boost of energy. I think it will motivate us even more for the future.”With a clear goal in mind: Emily and her teammates are now aiming for a place in the play-offs. “We want to reach sixth place and play for the title. I am convinced that we have the team to do it. If we play like we did on Saturday, we can achieve our challenge.”
Away from the courts, Emily is enjoying her new life in Béziers. She spends time with
her teammates, discovers the city and enjoys the climate: “Back home in Iowa, it's very cold. Here, it's much better!”

“I'll make my decision at the end of spring”

While the future remains uncertain for the player, especially with her wedding planned for next summer, she remains focused on the current season. “I'll make my decision at the end of spring,
when the season is over.”
For now, Emily Holterhaus is focused on her team and the challenges that await her. And given its ambition and energy, the second half of the season promises to be exciting for Béziers Volley.
A second half of the season that begins this Wednesday on the Parquet of Bordeaux-Mérignac for Béziers-Volley. A confrontation between the 7th and the 10th in the ranking, with only two points less currently for the Héraultaises.
