“I'm not here as a celebrity. I'm not here as a politician. I'm here as a mother,” Beyoncé said on stage at a Kamala Harris rally in Houston, Texas, before introducing the Democratic presidential candidate.

The global pop star, who gave the campaign its official anthem with her song Freedom(“Freedom”), gave a short speech denouncing the attacks on women's rights, including their right to abortion, in about 20 American states, including her native Texas.
“Imagine our daughters growing up, seeing what is possible without ceilings, without limits. Imagine our grandmothers. Imagine what they are feeling right now, the ones who lived to see this historic day,” “Queen B” told the more than 20,000 people in the stadium.
She addressed “all the men and women in this room watching from all across the country.” “We need you,” she added.
Ten days before the election, Kamala Harris made a detour Friday via this Republican state to denounce, once again, the restrictions and bans on abortion.
Two Texas women spoke on stage to an audience of more than 20,000 about how they were denied the health care they needed because of the new laws and nearly died.
The U.S. Supreme Court ended federal protections for abortion in 2022, and Donald Trump regularly takes credit for instigating the decision through his appointments of conservative judges when he was president.
“We are on the cusp of incredible, historic change,” Beyoncé said after a short speech by her mother and sister.
“It is time for America to sing a new song. A song that began 248 years ago. The old melodies of discord and despair no longer resonate. Generations of loved ones before us whisper a prophecy, a quest, a call, an anthem,” the star continued.
“Our voices sing a chorus of unity. They sing of dignity and opportunity. Are you all ready to add your voices to this new anthem of America?.”
