IN BRIEF
- This Thursday, January 9, 2025, Yann Barthès interviewed Jean-Claude Van Damme in a videoconference for Quotidien
- The opportunity to witness a totally lunar scene
- The actor actually found himself in his underwear, causing hilarity on set
This Thursday, January 9, 2025, the film The Gardener, by David Charhon, was released on the Prime Video platform. Et among the actors, there is Michaël Youn and Jean-Claude Van Damme. An atypical duo that delighted the first, totally fan of the second.
Asked about how he agreed to play in this film without even reading the script, Michael Youn indicates on France Inter, that only the mention of the name Van Damme convinced him: “When the producer called me and said ‘I would like to offer you a comedy with fighting, an offbeat comedy with Jean-Claude Van Damme, I said ‘ok stop. Send me the script, I'll read it but I'm already telling you yes, you can call my agency'”, he confides.

Also present on the set of Quotidien, alongside Yann Barthès, Michaël Youn was able to count on his sidekick, who was on a video conference. The opportunity for him to review images from his previous films, including Kickboxer, in which he dances. “I learned new moves”, says the actor, very proud of himself. But as he starts to get up to dance, he immediately sits back down.
The reason ? “I can’t, I’m in my underpants”, he says, showing his boxers with his cell phone, causing hilarity on the set. “He is unique”, says Michaël Youn, who thus lets everyone see how much Jean-Claude Van Damme is a man who dares.
Yann Barthès proposes a pact to the actor
While he shows his thighs without pants, Michael Youn, amused, tells him: “Jean-Claude, stop, stop”. Yann Barthès then takes the opportunity to extend an invitation to Jean-Claude Van Damme: “Make me a promise, Jean-Claude Van Damme, when you pass through Paris, come here, we will also invite Michael Youn, we will go dancing”, the host tells him.
But clearly, the actor is not ready to set foot on Quotidien. Indeed, the comedian will simply not respond to Yann Barthès and will just blow a kiss to the camera while saying “I love you France”. That same morning, Léa Salamé, who was hosting Michael Youn on France Inter, also indicated that she had not hosted Jean-Claude Van Damme, who had simply left the editorial teams in the lurch.
