The municipal team in charge since May is working hard to move the files forward. Midi Libre – C. C.
The first ceremony of wishes for the team of Valère Segal was the occasion to explain what was achieved in the first months of the mandate of the team Demain Pont-Saint-Esprit Midi Libre – C. C.
Tuesday evening, Valère Segal and the team elected at the end of April presented their first wishes to the population.
In a packed village hall, the municipal team elected at the end of April presented its wishes to the population on Tuesday evening. What has been undertaken in recent months was listed by Mayor Valère Segal, who expressed “immense pride and deep gratitude in sharing our wishes for the year to come”. Listening to him, everything is better in Pont-Saint-Esprit. Excerpts. On cleanliness and safety: “Thanks to collective mobilization, we have succeeded in establishing a healthier and safer environment for all”, saluting “the commitment and hard work of those who have helped make this possible”. Valère Segal discussed the allocation of new and adapted equipment for municipal services ; “regularly maintained green spaces” ; “water fountains restored” ; and the removal of parking meters, “requested in vain by shopkeepers”, to strengthen the attractiveness of the city center; the marking of pedestrian crossings (which will continue in 2025). In this second half of 2024, there was a tribute to Hector Maison by naming the stadium after him, in the presence of 500 people. The cemetery has not been forgotten with new signage and “old-fashioned” toilets that will soon be brand new and PMR compliant.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000As promised during the campaign: recruitment has been carried out so that “municipal police officers patrol 7 days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 3 a.m.; close ties have been established with the gendarmerie and the results in terms of arrests and the fight against trafficking are significant”. The mayor mentioned the doctors' file, the success of the Christmas market at La Cazerne with thousands of visitors, an increase in attendance at the Christmas village, “elected officials, agents and organizers have found a formula that no longer costs taxpayers anything”.
For 2025, it was announced that the church and town hall would be made accessible to people with reduced mobility; the burying of the voluntary drop-off points on Boulevard Gambetta; a campaign to scare away and capture pigeons; and the overall hydraulic study (once completed, the city will be able to start issuing building permits again). “The wastewater treatment plant is entering its final phase, in collaboration with the Agglo with whom we have renewed ties that no longer existed.” “Many other projects are under consideration.”
Valère Segal reaffirmed his team's commitment: “Improving everyone's daily lives without partisan aims. Pont-Saint-Esprit must once again become one of the department's flagship cities.” What do the Spiripontains think about it? “It's a little more clean”, said Marie. “These are not wishes, it's an election campaign”, Jean-Pierre smiles, while conceding that there are improvements. For Marie-Ange, “I take my hat off to them. They've already done wonderful things. If only on the trash cans.” A gentleman shares: “He has recognition for his teams, that's essential. In a short time, there are real and factual things.”
The evening continued with an aperitif.
