Chants et prières en provençal

In a packed church, this Epiphany ceremony, brought up to date by the Lazarist Pescalune Father and Majoral of the Félibrige Pierre Causse in the 1970s, was once again synonymous with fraternity.

Organized by the association l’Escolo dóu Vidourle with the assistance of the municipality, this solemn moment – which corresponds to the adoration of the infant Jesus by the Three Wise Men – once again highlighted local traditions.

Between religious songs – Gloria, Alleluia, Hosanna… – and prayers said, in turn, in the language of Mistral and in the language of Molière, Father Robert Skiba officiated before an audience of the faithful, Arlesiennes, elected officials of the City and citizens.

For an hour, the fervor was palpable in the audience, the authenticity of this ceremony and the identity of the territory being embodied by the offerings placed at the foot of the altar by the Arlésiennes: wheat, bread, local products and the obvious muscat of Lunel.

The 2026 edition live on “Le Jour du Seigneur”

The cameras of the religious program Le Jour du Seigneur will be turned towards the city of Lunel, Sunday January 4, 2026. Indeed, as announced Father Robert Skiba during the celebration this Saturday, the channel France 2 will transmit the Feast of Kings 2026 to Notre-Dame-du-Lac live.

At the end of the service, the president of the Escolo dóu Vidourle, Adeline Martinez, thanked, in the choir and from the bottom of her heart, all the people who contributed to the success of this Feast of Kings 2025.

She then invited the audience to join the choir of her association on the forecourt of the church for the traditional song La Coupo Santo – the Provençal anthem composed by Frédéric Mistral – accompanied by the tambourines and galoubets of the group Li Tambourinaïre de l’estang de l’Ort.

An aperitif served to all at the entrance to Notre-Dame-du-Lac delighted the participants in a warm and shared moment.
