The tradition continues. The passage to the new year 2025 was celebrated all over the world, on the night of December 31 to January 1. Many people gathered around emblematic monuments in the different capitals of the world and often shared the fireworks spectacle.

New Zealand celebrated the passage to 2025 first, due to the time difference. More than a million spectators gathered in Sydney, the city that proclaimed itself “New Year's capital of the world”, BFM notably points out. Australia followed suit with illuminations on Sydney Harbour.
