In the middle of the campaign, Elon Musk breaks all records on X

Β© Presse- lemon/X

It's been a busy weekend for Elon Musk. The controversial businessman spoke at a Donald Trump campaign rally and, at the same time, managed to cross the symbolic threshold of 200 million subscribers on his own platform. In an article relayed by our colleagues at BFM, we learn that he is also a compulsive tweeter with no less than 2,500 tweets posted in September 2024.

While the social network's valuation is falling, the industrial magnate continues to promote (his) freedom of expression on the platform. He has become one of Donald Trump's major supporters in his campaign against Kamala Harris. Since buying Twitter, he has gained between 2 and 5 million subscribers per month.

7 accounts above the 100 million subscriber mark

After Elon Musk, we find several personalities, mainly North American, in the top 10. The 7 largest accounts on the platform each have more than 100 million subscribers. The complete list, and their subscribers as of 7/10/24:

  1. Elon Musk – 200 million
  2. Barack Obama – 131 million
  3. Cristiano Ronaldo – 113 million
  4. Justin Bieber – 110 million
  5. Rihanna – 108 million
  6. Katy Perry – 106 million
  7. Narendra Modi – 102 million
  8. Taylor Switft – 95 million
  9. Donald Trump – 91 million
  10. Ariana Grande – 85 million

Beyond the number of subscribers, Musk impresses with the reach of his messages. Over the last 12 hours, his tweets/reposts have generated 202 million impressions in total (we counted by hand). All this firepower could help Musk achieve his main goal for the end of the year: to see Donald Trump (re)become president of the United States.
