According to an Algerian political activist who has taken refuge in France and reported his video, it contains acts of torture and murder and “targeted all those who wanted to demonstrate on January 1st against the Algerian regime (and in particular) a young activist whom he wants dead because a person named Cohen shared his video.”

Michaël's report Delafosse

As a reminder, this Saturday, January 4, Mayor Michaël Delafosse wrote to the public prosecutor to denounce calls for racial hatred and acts of torture broadcast on the social network Tik Tok and emanating from an individual residing in Montpellier.

“These remarks were reported and flagged by several Montpellier citizens, deeply shocked by the content of the messages“, the mayor stressed.

According to him, these facts can be legally qualified as “public provocation to discrimination, hatred or violence against a person” and “apology for crimes of torture or barbarism”.

He asked the prosecutor, through article 40, “to initiate legal proceedings against Mr. Boualem Naman”, in the name of “public peace” and “respect for republican values”.

On the same day, the prefect of Hérault, François-Xavier Lauch, announced on X that he had also alerted the Montpellier judicial court. “I became aware of this video late this morning, he wrote. It is intolerable. I immediately contacted the public prosecutor on the basis of article 40 so that legal action can be taken in light of these comments. I will also take administrative action.”
