In fact, all new iPhones should be compatible with Apple Intelligence, Apple's features based on generative AI. And some analysts are already predicting that the arrival of these features will trigger a new “supercycle” of iPhone sales worldwide. But, unfortunately, things are not that simple, as journalist Mark Gurman explains in his latest newsletter on Bloomberg.

Mark Gurman doubts the supercycle

In June, Apple made a big splash by introducing Apple Intelligence at its WWDC conference. However, despite the spectacle, Gurman believes that a supercycle in 2024 is unlikely. One reason for this prediction is that Apple Intelligence is not yet finalized. As a result, when it is available, it will not include all the features that Apple introduced in June. In addition, Apple Intelligence will not be available worldwide immediately. In fact, Apple does not plan to launch these features in the European Union and China this year. Furthermore, even in countries where Apple Intelligence will be available in 2024, it is not expected to be pre-installed on the iPhone 16, but will arrive via an update in October.

In addition, Mark Gurman believes that despite the show presented by Apple in June, Apple Intelligence has not convinced all consumers enough to push them to buy a new iPhone compatible with this technology. And its AI features should also be available worldwide, and in more languages, since for the moment, these features are only offered in English.
