iPhone SE 4: Apple would abandon a key element!

Exclusive information on the upcoming iPhone SE 4 shares multiple new features. But Apple& ;would also decide to remove a large element of the smartphone.

The iPhone SE 4 should be very different from its predecessors. It is Mark Gurman, a prominent Bloomberg journalist and specialist leaker, who has gathered several pieces of information about Apple's next affordable phone. Nearly 3 years after the release of the last model, Apple would choose to rethink its “low cost” iPhone to bring it closer to its main range.

According to Gurman, the iPhone SE 4 would finally abandon the main button which allows the unlocking of the phone via “Touch ID”. The iPhone SE of 2022 would therefore be the last Apple phone to have this iconic button and still very appreciated by many users. Apple would therefore choose to switch to Face ID, its facial recognition for the next iPhone SE 4. A more secure function, but also faster.

Another new feature on the power side since the iPhone SE 4 would be equipped with an A18 chip that is already found on the latest iPhone 16. Enough to give a big performance gain to the firm's “low cost” iPhone even if the previous model already excelled on this point.

But that's not all since, still according to Gurman, the iPhone SE 4 would be equipped with an OLED screen for much better details and contrasts than on previous models which always had an LCD screen (in 2022, it was quite annoying). Apple would also decide to add the “Dynamic Island” notch that has been found on the main iPhones since the 15th generation and which allows all sorts of interactions.

The iPhone SE 4 would be unveiled in early 2025 according to Bloomberg alongside a new iPad Air. However, we will have to wait and see if all these new improvements do not increase the price of the iPhone SE, which would bring it dangerously close to the prices of classic iPhones.
