Years of memories gone up in smoke. Among the many houses that have been ravaged by the devastating fires in Los Angeles, there is that of Patrick Bruel. Indeed, the singer lost his house. For the moment, he has not yet been there to see the extent of the damage. He preferred to stay to be able to perform the shows of the Enfoirés show.

“The question obviously arose of returning the next day directly to L.A. to see the damage. And then, the Restos du Cœur have always been an institution for me. I have never missed an edition and a concert“, he explained initially in the columns of Figaro/TV Mag. “Today, I wonder if I did the right thing in postponing my departure by a week. Well yes, I think.”

Patrick Bruel lost much more than his material

On the other hand, the singer assured that it was not because he was not there that he was not sad about this situation. “Çthat does not lessen the pain, it is very very strong. Even if, obviously, we are not the most to complain, but that does not take anything away from the violence. It is eight years of life, of settling in, many memories and very intimate things that fly away“, he described with great emotion.

“They say it is material: yes a machine to wash it, you change it but children's drawings…“, he continued. Luckily, when his house went up in smoke, none of his relatives, nor his two sons, were there. “My first (Oscar, 13 years old, editor's note) had returned with me to France. The second (Léon, 11 years old) was taking the plane at that time. He told me he was turning back and I refused, so as not to add to the anxiety l’anguish.”

Patrick Bruel explained thathe was able to count on the unwavering support of his Enfoirés comrades. There was “warmth, solidarity, kindness and a lot of tenderness and love“, thus described the artist much appreciated by the troupe.  “As is always the case in this adventure, he insists on specifying.
