Jean-Claude Van Damme: This Disappointment That Prevented Him From Finding True Love

Jean-Claude Van Damme is an emblematic figure of cinema that needs no introduction. This Sunday, December 22, he confided in complete transparency to Audrey Crespo-Mara. He discussed many important subjects, including his love life. “I lost my very first love, without any sexual relationship, with only a kiss but a lot of butterflies”, he began. A big disappointment that shook the young Jean-Claude Van Damme. I was, in a sense betrayed and it really destroyed me so like every boy who is very sensitive, çit screwed me up for the rest of my life, he assured.

Jean-Claude Van Damme opts for transparency. Faced with Audrey Crespo-Mara, he talks about his love life without mincing words. “It's very hard for me to fall in love”, he continued before adding:   “Besides, after this girl, I always pushed love away”. A breakup that left a deep mark on him and, throughout his life, he suffered a series of failures. “I've had five divorces”, recalls the actor before adding: “I believe in love but I push it away”. Today, Jean-Claude Van Damme shares the life of Gladys Portugues.

Jean-Claude Van Damme: a great actor… with regrets

Jean-Claude Van Damme's career needs no introduction. The actor has had a string of major roles in the cinema but his success is not everything. He notably confided that he had a “formidable” life, before opening up about his “small regrets” concerning his children. “I have lost the relationship with my children”, assures Jean-Claude Van Damme before lamenting:   “I don't think that my children love me very much at the moment”. A father who is rarely around, the actor confides that he has huge regrets today.  

Jean-Claude Van Damme has prioritized his career. For him, success was essential, but he realizes today that it is not everything. “When I succeeded I gave everything, and they won't understand it, even when I'm dead they won't understand it“, he explained, specifying that he hadn't been very present for his loved ones. Moreover, making up for lost time seems impossible to him now. “It's too far, they're 38, 34 and 28, they're doing the best they can but they're still under my roof, and I'm maintaining, they don't work too much what “, he confided in complete transparency.

Jean-Claude Van Damme: “I think they're jealous”

Jean-Claude Van Damme would have liked to have a better relationship with his children. According to him, the latter had the ambition to have a career similar to their father.  “Because they all want to be actors, I said ‘we're going to succeed’, movie family this that, and I was wrong&eacute and I wonder if they don't blame me for ça”, assures the actor. Thus, it also prompts him to ask himself many questions. “And sometimes, but I don't dare say it to television, but I'll tell you, a lot of friends tell me ‘your children admire you, but there's a bit of jealousy’, and çit pisses me off” , the actor concluded.
