Their marriage lasted only two years. Tuesday, August 20 , Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on their second wedding anniversary. The couple has since begun a procedure to separate officially. 

Four months after their separation, the two exes continue however to see each other. On Tuesday, December 17, one of their close friends thus revealed to the magazine Page Six that they have made a tacit agreement to “stay in touch”. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are said to have a “mutual respect for each other”.

While the actor and singer don't want to rekindle their romance, they also don't want to end their friendshipé. “They have every intention of continuing to be part of each other's lives, even if they are not involved in a romantic relationship” said a source close to the couple.

&Whenever they meet, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck would remain “friendly”. Their respective children would also be the main reason for their good understanding. “They are still close to each other's children and even if they don't have a co-parenting relationship, they still feel like a blended family at in many ways” confided this same source.

Before forming one of the most famous couples in Hollywood, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had children with their ex-spouses. The interpreter of Let's Get Loud is thus the mother of the twins Max and Emme. For his part, the Batman actor is the father of Violet, Fin and Samuel. 

If Ben Affleck's eldest daughter has entered university, his other children “attend the same “school” as those of Jennifer Lopez. In early September, the two exes went together to the play of Fin and Emme. They took the time to chat after the play. Ben Affleck also hugged his former daughter-in-law. An attitude that shows the closeness between the former couple and their respective children.
