Josyan Olivia (UDR) declares himself a candidate for the municipal elections in Lattes in 2026

Josyan Oliva is already a candidate in the municipal elections in Lattes, under the label of Eric Ciotti's party, the UDR. Midi Libre – E. L.

The thirty-year-old ran in the last legislative elections in the first constituency of Hérault, under the banner of Eric Ciotti. In 2026, he plans to face the outgoing mayor of Lattes, Cyril Meunier.

The 2026 municipal elections are still a long way off, but for Josyan Oliva from Lattes, it is already time to get the starter going. At 32, the man who presented himself to voters in the last legislative elections under the banner of the LR-Ciottistes, now UDR, intends to do it again. “Lattes is a right-wing city even if the current mayor is left-wing, while playing on a certain ambiguity. My goal is to unite the right. I achieved 57% in the legislative elections in the city, I think there is an expectation.”

A native of the town, the young lawyer, father of a little girl, now lives in Maurin.“I have seen this city change, going from 10,000 inhabitants in 2000 to soon 20,000, and with urbanization that will continue to grow. I am not opposed to urban development, but not excessively, not with these projects that will see Lattes swallowed up by the big neighboring city. On the islet of Platanes, towers are planned. One was supposed to be 17 stories, it was revised to 14, with social housing. I ask a simple question: where will the people of Lattes live tomorrow ?”

Taxation, security, family policy

The association Agir pour Lattes, which is leading Josyan Olivia's municipal project, is also targeting the pressure fiscal. “There have been tax increases in each mandate,” he denounces. Security is also a concern with the desire to gradually increase the number of municipal police officers: “there are currently 22 of them, which only allows for one patrol in the evening. Given the layout of our municipality, this is insufficient.” Traffic, which needs to be made more fluid, is also one of the topics, as is a “family policy”, including early childhood, schools, the recreation center (“with priority for those who work”).

If new legislative elections were held by 2026, Josyan Olivia would run again, while ensuring “my priority is Lattes”.
