Kenneth Law, this Ontarian accused of having provided poison to suicidal people, will stand trial without going through a preliminary investigation. He appeared Tuesday afternoon by videoconference from a Toronto jail.
The preliminary investigation allows generally to determine whether the Crown has amassed enough evidence against the accused for a trial.
Following a decision by the Attorney General of Ontario, this step will not take place in the case of Kenneth Law, since the minister favored a direct indictment.< /p>
Kenneth Law is scheduled to return to court on Thursday, this time in Superior Court, after his appearance before the Court of Justice. His lawyer said last week that his client would plead not guilty.
