Last dance of the year at home for the Lebrun brothers, their teammates and the women's team of Alliance Nîmes Montpellier

Félix Lebrun sera bien présent avec son frère Alexis à Castelnau. Midi Libre – LF

This Thursday (7pm), at the Palais des sports in Castelnau-le-Lez, in Pro A Women, ANMTT hosts Le Mans while the men in Pro A Men face Chartres.

On Tuesday, the men's team of the Alliance Nîmes Montpellier experienced the continuation of the Lebrun mania… in Roanne (Loire). In two days, the 5,000 seats of the Halle Vacheresse found takers and the match against the local club (3-0 victory for ANMTT) took place in a fantastic atmosphere.

In the home championship, between not having a fixed hall, lower capacity in terms of places, a varied sports offer and the obligation to have to navigate between Nîmes and Montpellier, it is more difficult to reach these figures.

Stéphane Lebrun: “Away all the time”

Like last weekend, when the Pierre-de-Coubertin Sports Palace in Montpellier was far from full for the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 (3-0 against the Austrians from Wels). “The problem is mainly in terms of logistics, it's very complex, we never have our bearings, we have to move the equipment every time, explains the sports director of the ANMTT Stéphane Lebrun. We have to work on this subject with the communities. We regret not having a priority room. It must be said that it's not complicated for our players, they feel like they're playing away all the time. We are dependent on the clubs that occupy these rooms, handball at Parnasse and FDI Stadium, volleyball at Castelnau…”

Precisely, for the last home match of the year, the Hérault-Gardois club returns to the Palais des sports Chaban-Delmas in Castelnau: “It's a magnificent venue,” notes the father of Alexis and Félix Lebrun. “We have very good relations with the MHSC VB and the town hall of Castelnau. We are happy to play here, the venue is perfectly suited to us. On Thursday, we hope for 2,000 spectators.”

Facing Le Mans for the women and Chartres for the men, the stakes will be high. Rachel Moret and her partners will be slight favorites and have the opportunity to return to the top 4 of the rankings.

For their part, the Lebrun brothers and their teammates can regain the lead in the Pro A championship in the event of success against the red lantern which has not yet won a single match. “We are having a really good start to the season,” believes Stéphane Lebrun. It is important that we settle into the top of the table to have a cushion in advance and plan for the important meetings. At that point, we will have a chance to go and fulfill our objectives, namely to win a place on the podium for the women and the title for the men.”
