A TPMP columnist was not tender with Laurent Delahousse on the set of TPMP this Friday, December 6, 2024.

Laurent Delahousse "hautain" et "méprisant" ? Chasse à la taupe lancée après un portrait au vitriol

IN BRIEF

  • Laurent Delahousse, iconic presenter of France Télévisions for 14 years, sees his audiences drop in the face of Anne-Claire Coudray on TF1.
  • Gilles Verdez has brushed a vitriolic portrait of the journalist this Friday, December 6 on the set of TPMP.
  • Rumors suggest a possible ouster of Delahousse because of his contemptuous attitude, according to testimonies collected by Voici.

Like Michel Drucker, Laurent Delahousse is a leading face of France Télévisions. It has been 14 years since the famous journalist the blonde hair takes over the antenna every weekend on the second channel of PAF. 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, 1:15 p.m. on Sunday and 8:30 p.m. on Sunday have long captured the majority of audiences in the face of competition.

Has the public finally pledged allegiance to Anne-Claire Coudray on TF1  ? The audiences have indeed plummeted the latter on the time slots monopolized by the dashing fifty-something. According to information gathered by the magazine Voici on December 6, the management of France 2 is considering ending his reign. Beyond audiences in free fall, this heavy decision would be motivated by the contemptuous attitude of the presenter towards his teams.

Laurent Delahousse: what exactly is he being accused of ?

The rumor did not escape the vigilance of Gilles Verdez. The columnist returned at length to the accusations targeting Laurent Delahousse in TPMP last night. “The éteams say of him that he tends to talk more than the guests, to show off a little. An editor-in-chief says: 'His interviews have become catastrophic. With his arms crossed, his professorial air, he is omnipotent', he explained, citing the article by our colleagues.

And to continue without mincing his words : “Behind the scenes, they say he's not very nice with the teams, that he talks with his assistant but not with the other members of the editorial staff. There are a slightly contemptuous side that is coming out right now because the ratings are not great. So we wonder how far it will go. But it's true that his style that seemed fashionable a while ago now seems outdated and arouses a lot of criticism and reflections internally”.

Laurent Delahousse: has he lost the confidence of France Télévisions ?

The drop in weekend audiences is however not a first. Last June, the Purepeople media already pointed out that “the 8 p.m. news on weekdays and weekends respectively reached their lowest level of the season on Wednesday, May 29 and Friday, May 7 June”. France Télévisions had maintained despite everything its unwavering confidence in Laurent Delahousse.

At a press conference, the comments of Alexandre Kara, director of information, on the embodiment of the JT could despite everything leave a little room for doubt: “'Le 20 Heures' is the edition of the editorial staff of France Télévisions, it does not belong to Anne-Sophie Lapix, nor à Laurent Delahousse, any more than à Julian Bugier or à Leïla Kaddour […] Information is stronger than incarnation. We will have to agree first and foremost on the editorial in order to make the best newspaper. We do not forbid ourselves anything”. Affaire to be continued…
