A lawyer seeking authorization to file a class action against Robert Miller, suspected of having paid underage girls for sex, says he fears the Montreal billionaire will die before the case goes to trial.
Mr. Jeff Orenstein would like to question Mr. Miller at this time, due to the declining health of the octogenarian.
He asked the Superior Court on Thursday to' ;authorize anticipatory questioning of Robert Miller and Helmut Lippmann, 90, vice president of the billionaire's company, Future Electronics.
The lawyers for the class action against Robert Miller, Andrew Garonce (left), Jeff Orenstein (center) and Andrea Grass (right), were present at the Montreal courthouse.
A doctor called to the stand by Mr. Orenstein said Thursday that based on medical reports ordered by Mr. Miller's lawyers, the billionaire is currently bedridden due to serious health problems, but he can communicate.
Judge Christian Immer, however, suggested that even if the anticipated examination were authorized by the court, Mr. Orenstein could not that ask him questions related to the only representative in the request to initiate a class action, and not questions related to the other potential members of this action.
