On Saturday, Israel announced for the first time publicly that it had attacked Iran, launching pre-dawn strikes against missile manufacturing facilities and surface-to-air missile batteries and other air systems in the country.

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry also condemned the Israeli strikes, calling them “a violation of Iran's sovereignty and a serious threat to the security of the country.” regional”.

He notably called on the UN Security Council to “put an end to Israel's military escalation” in the region.

For over a year, Hezbollah and Israel have been exchanging fire on the border, a “support front” opened by the Lebanese movement in solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the Islamist movement Hamas, at war with Israel since its unprecedented attack on Israeli soil on October 7, 2023.
