And while since the end of September the Israeli army has been leading a ground offensive in southern Lebanon, attempting incursions into Lebanese territory, Hezbollah assured Wednesday that it had fired missiles at Israeli soldiers near the town of Bint Jbeil.

The ANI reports nighttime Israeli bombardments — air raids and artillery fire — which led to “the destruction of a certain number of residential buildings and apartments” in Bint Jbeil.

Bint Jbeil had been the scene of fierce resistance by Hezbollah fighters against the Israeli army during their previous war in 2006. The Israeli army had not been able to take control of this locality, located more than three kilometers from the border.
