The Parisians were serious to win the three points against Stade Rennais (3-1). An attractive match which should give confidence to Luis Enrique's men before the clash against Arsenal.

PSG 3: 1

Rennes Live

Before the clash against Arsenal next Tuesday, PSG reassured against Rennes by winning by a margin (3-1) thanks in particular to a great Barcola. The Frenchman also opened the scoring by concluding a lightning counter-attack with a curled shot at the opposite post (30th). He was incisive in front of the goal, unlike Dembélé who “wasted” » in the first half. Too passive in the first act, Julien St&eacutephan's men started the second half with a knife between their teeth by imposing more intense pressure. PSG nevertheless managed to break through through Lee (58th) who headed in a diving header a shot from Barcola that had crashed against the post. Just before his exit, Barcola scored his double to give PSG a 3-goal lead by taking a Hakimi offering at the far post. Although largely behind, Stade Rennais did not admit defeat by going more offensively. Beraldo also conceded a penalty which allowed Kalimuendo to bring his team back to two goals in the 75th minute to keep some hope alive. In the last quarter of an hour, Rennes tried to come back without finding the fault. Paris wins in fine style, good preparation before the Champions League.

23:08 – In the general ranking

With this success, Paris takes a breath of fresh air at the top of Ligue 1, posting a 3-point lead over Marseille and Monaco, who have a game in hand. For its part, Rennes is stuck in the soft underbelly of the championship in 8th position, 6 points from the podium.

Despite a big slump at the end of the game, the Parisians generally mastered their subject to win 3-1 against a Rennes team that was too soft in the first half. Barcola, man of the match, scored a double tonight. Attractive, Paris must now turn to Arsenal next Tuesday.

22:52 – Paris does not plan (90+5’)

Launched at the limit of offside in the corridor on the right side, Hakimi does not try to hit and prefers to come back behind for Skriniar who serves his goalkeeper.

22:51 – Rennes keep the ball (90+3’)

Julien Stéphan's men keep the ball without really showing themselves to be dangerous while there are only 4 minutes left play.

22:50 – Seven minutes of added time (90+1’)

The assistant referee indicates seven minutes of added time in this game.

22:48 – Paris is playing to scare itself (90’)

PSG has been completely unbalanced for a few minutes. We are trying to calm the pace on the Parisian.

22:45 – Seidu very close to giving hope to Rennes (87’)

After a big sequence of possession on the edge of the Parisian surface, Seidu overflows in the 5’50 before placing a super-powerful strike that lodges under Safonov's bar. Mr. Ben El Hadj cancels the goal for a handball by Seidu just before making his last move. Questionable decision. So we remain at 3-1.

22:42 – Neves imposes his paw (84’)

Like his sparkling match in midfield, Neves comes to take Mandanda's clearance with perfect control. He goes back behind.

22:40 – Mayulu takes his chance (81’)

After a dangerous loss of the ball by Wooh on the edge of his area, Mayulu opts for a powerful strike with his right but he takes the ball too far from the outside. Result, the ball escapes far from Mandanda's goal.

22:37 – Paris suffers behind (79’)

Since Safonov's bad intervention, Paris has completely taken on water and is scaring itself as we approach the last 10 minutes in this game.

22:35 – Safonov does not reassure (77’)

On a corner from the left, Safonov tries to box the ball but misses his exit. Paris has been wavering for a few minutes.

22:33 – Kalimuendo revives Rennes! (3-1)

The Frenchman opens his foot to place a low shot that deceives Safonov who started from the other side. The Rennes striker was able to hold the pressure despite the long wait before taking his penalty.

22:31 – The penalty for Rennes! (73’)

Beraldo misjudges the trajectory of a ball that he has just deflected with a raised arm. Penalty for Rennes that Kalimuendo will draw.

22:29 – Exit of Barcola (70’)

The Frenchman, who had a superb match, gave up his place to Kolo Muani to a standing ovation at the Parc des Princes. Mayulu and Skriniar also came on to replace Ruiz and Skriniar.

The Parisian striker scored twice by heading in a low cross from Hakimi at the far post from close range. A perfect match for the Frenchman who will give up his place in a few moments. Paris leads 3-0.

22:24 – Wooh gets a yellow (65’)

After a late intervention on Lee, Wooh gets a warning.

22:23 – Barcola puts it to the test again bad Ostigard (64’)

The Parisian striker once again erases Ostigard before placing a shot with his right foot that skims the opposite post of Mandanda. Big match for Barcola tonight!

22:21 – Paris very close to 3-0 (61’)

Mandanda makes a superb save to avoid 3-0! Barcola on the left had come to hit before serving Ruiz right in the middle. The Spaniard places a shot that pushes back the Rennes goalkeeper, strong on his line.

22:17 – Change for Rennes (59’)

Assignon gives up his place to Hateboer for the first Rennes substitution of the game.

After a superb long-range strike from Barcola, Lee follows up well and, as a fox in the box, finishes with a diving header into the empty goal.

22:15 – Paris is hampered by the restart (57th)

Faced with the intense pressure from the Rennes attacking trio, the first Parisian restart has difficulty projecting itself. Ruiz goes back behind.

22:13 – Rennes more aggressive (55’)

Since the restart, Julien Stéphan's men have shown authority and are more aggressive in duels.

22:12 – Matusiwa tries the shot (54’)

Full axis, Matusiwa tries a powerful left-footed shot that flies over Safonov's cage.

22:10 – Zaire-Emery gets a yellow card

After a tackle on the foot slightly detached, the Frenchman takes a deserved warning.
