Thirty-two years since L’île singulière opened its doors at 16 rue de Provence, on the Corniche. It will move, by the beginning of February, to 1401 promenade Maréchal Leclerc.

For two years, this artisanal tiellerie has been taken over by Nicolas Strina and Julien Vallard, two friends from Sète who have come to take over from Jean-Pierre Conesa. The latter passed on to them his tielle recipe, with a dough that is always worked by hand. After more than 30 years of good and loyal service, the tielle shop will move a few meters further, 250 meters to be exact. In early February, L’île singulière will open its doors at 1401 promenade Maréchal Leclerc.

A loyal clientele for 30 years despite the changes

The two friends from Sète decided to move to have more visibility, now they are on the main road of the Corniche. “We had planned to move, but we didn't want to go far to keep our loyal customers. This opportunity came up, we jumped at the chance“, say the two tiellistes. “People are warned that we are moving, we put a poster on the old store, and we shared it on social networks, but we are often asked if we are closing or if we are moving. Customers have their little habits, we don't want to make them lose them.” A brand new decor, “the other store even if it was good and functional it was a bit old fashioned“, laugh the two friends, “here we were able to make it a bit more modern“. A brand new location, but still the same loyal clientele for thirty years to this know-how.
