Lina's death: this hypothesis on the causes of death seriously considered after the autopsy

À At the end of the autopsy of Lina's body last weekend, experts put forward a hypothesis, without however being able to confirm it with certainty.

< p>Almost a year and a month to the day after her disappearance, Lina is to be buried this Friday, October 25, 2024. The body of the 15-year-old teenager, who had not given any sign of life since September 23, 2023, while she was traveling from her home in La Plaine to the Saint-Blaise-la-Roche train station in Bas-Rhin, was found lifeless last week in Nièvre. The autopsy carried out over the weekend allowed the family to recover Lina's body to proceed with her burial on Friday, but also allowed investigators to learn a little more about the circumstances of her death while the main suspect, Samuel Gonin, committed suicide in the summer last.

As revealed this Thursday Le Parisien, the autopsy was not entirely “conclusive” due in particular to the state of Lina's body, found in the wilderness. Nevertheless, one hypothesis has emerged: that the teenager died as a result of asphyxiation. Traces found on her neck in particular supported this hypothesis. Several concordant sources claim that the teenager could have been asphyxiated using a plastic bag. Additional expert assessments are now underway to confirm or deny this hypothesis.

One thing is certain, the theory of an accident followed by the concealment of the body seems to be gradually fading away. The examination of the place of Lina's disappearance and the autopsy, on the contrary, rather reinforce the criminal lead. What about possible sexual violence ? Since the body was found well after Lina's disappearance, the coroners were unable to provide a formal answer on this point. But a source says that the teenager was wearing several items of clothing that did not appear to have been removed and then returned. "Unfortunately, what exactly happened on September 23, 2023 remains, and will probably remain, quite vague. The late discovery of Lina's body and the suicide of Samuel Gonin risk depriving the family of the complete truth", points out a source close to the case to Parisien
