LIVE. 2024 Paralympic Games: Benoit and the mixed coxed four in bronze, Adolphe aims for gold, French-French final between Patouillet and Gaugain, live

Natahalie Benoit opened the counter in rowing with a beautiful bronze medal. The coxed four mixed imitated him brilliantly by finishing third in the final. 12:14 – The sky is falling on Anne Sophie Centis' head

Due to a mechanical problem on the bike, Anne Sophie Centis and her pilot Delzenne were disqualified from the series. A major blow for the French team, which finds itself deprived of a great chance of a medal at because of this technical problem.

Fifth title in a row for Ukrainian Oksana Zubkovska in T12 long jump. She won with a best jump of 5m78. Sara Martinez Puntero won silver for Spain in 5m40. While Linda Hamri completed the podium for Algeria in 5m30. It's exactly the same podium as at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

11:39 – Pritchard Olympic champion!

The British Benjamin Pritchard was the big boss of the PR1 men's Skiff final, he won in 9:04 ahead of the Ukrainian Polianski and the Italian Perini. The Marseille Alexis Sanchez, completely exhausted, finished sixth in the final.

11:35 – Alexis Sanchez 6th in mid-race

He had started very quickly, Alexis Sacnhez is paying for his fast start. The Frenchman is sixth at 10 seconds from the Italian Perini (first in the race after 1000m)

The objective for these 2024 Paralympic Games is quite high for the French delegation, which hopes to break all records, as for the Olympic Games.  "The goal is mainly gold medals, because that's what counts most in the ranking of nations," recalls Marie-Amélie Le Fur. "[…] I was asked if this wasn't a discounted ambition compared to the Olympic top 5. But we had so much lost in performance, we've come a long way. We were 14th in Tokyo; aiming for the top 8 means doubling the number of gold medals, so a real ambition,'' said Marie-Am&eacutelie Le Fur, president of the French Paralympic Committee. As a reminder, in 2021, the French Paralympic delegation won 54 medals, including eleven Olympic titles.
