A U.S. airliner, killing a total of 67 people including passengers and crew, collided Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at around 9 p.m. (3 a.m. French time) with an army helicopter over Washington.

The plane and helicopter are in the waters of the Potomac River. Some of the victims' identities have been released: a pair of Russian world champion skaters and two Chinese nationals. Two Chinese nationals among the victims

Two Chinese nationals were on board the plane that crashed in Washington on Wednesday night after colliding with a U.S. military helicopter, the official Xinhua news agency reported Friday, citing the Chinese embassy in the United States. “After a preliminary investigation” , the embassy announced that two Chinese citizens were “among the victims” of this air disaster, according to Xinhua.
