This Monday, January 20, 2025 marks the return of Donald Trump to the White House. The billionaire businessman will succeed Joe Biden today after his victory against Democrat Kamala Harris last November and will officially become the 47th President of the United States.

The essentials:

The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the United States, or 3:30 p.m. Paris time. He will take the oath around noon, or 6 p.m. in France. This will be followed by a speech presenting the guidelines for his term. It will take place inside the US Congress, under the rotunda, due to the extremely low temperatures in Washington today. Usually, it takes place on the steps of the Capitol. Many supporters will be present in the city and Donald Trump is expected to meet them after the ceremony.
