Para road cycling returned this Wednesday, September 4th with the time trial events and the medals are piling up! Heïdi Gaugain took the silver medal, Alexandre Léauté the gold and Florian Jouanny in C5, C2 and H2 this morning. In the afternoon, Elie de Carvalho took the silver medal in category B with Mickael Guichard
Dimitri Pavadé also wants to shine in the long jump. The program is also loaded in para tennis, notably with Stéphane Houdet, in para swimming, with Kylian Portal, or in para table tennis with the semi-final of Fabien Lamirault.

In mixed para shooting with the 50m rifle prone position, Justine Bève took first place in the qualifications and Tanguy de La Forest seventh. They are both in the final, which begins at 3 p.m.

The Frenchman does not pass the 172 kg in para weightlifting and finishes sixth in the final.

The objective for these 2024 Paralympic Games is quite high for the French delegation, which hopes to break all records, as for the Olympic Games. "The goal is mainly gold medals, because that's what counts most in the ranking of nations," recalls Marie-Amélie Le Fur. "[…] I was asked if this wasn't a discounted ambition compared to the Olympic top 5. But we had so much lost in performance, we've come a long way. We were 14th in Tokyo; aiming for the top 8 means doubling the number of gold medals, so a real ambition,'' said Marie-Amélie Le Fur, president of the French Paralympic Committee. As a reminder, in 2021, the French Paralympic delegation won 54 medals, including eleven Olympic titles.
