• Para road cycling returned this Wednesday, September 4th with the time trial events and the medals are piling up! Heïdi Gaugain took the silver medal, Alexandre Léauté the gold and Florian Jouanny in C5, C2 and H2 this morning. In the afternoon, Elie de Carvalho took the silver medal in category B with Mickael Guichard

The French tandem is beaten by twelve seconds by the Dutch tandem. It is still a new medal for para cycling. Alexandre Lloveras and Yohann Paillot finish just off the podium by just 1.4 seconds!

14:02 – Maxime Valet passes the second round of the repêechages

The French sçais apos;imposes 15-6 against Vanderson Luis Chaves. He still needs two wins before playing for bronze.

14:00 – Dorian Foulon is off!

The Frenchman is aiming for a second gold medal at these Games and has made this race a priority.

13:56 – French tandems placed

&At the end of the first round, Elie de Carvalho is second and Alexandre Lloveras fourth. Both are in the running for victory.

13:41 – Two Frenchmen in the 50m rifle final

In mixed para shooting with the 50m rifle prone position, Justine Bève took first place in the qualifications and Tanguy de La Forest seventh. They are both in the final, which begins at 3 p.m.

1:36 p.m. – No medal for Alex Adélaïde

The Frenchman does not pass the 172 kg in para weightlifting and finishes sixth in the final.

1:33 p.m. – It's on for Elie de Carvalho and Mickaël Guichard

The tandem duo sets off for 28.4 kilometers in tandem in classification B (blind and visually impaired athletes).

13:29 – Clémence Delavoipière éeliminée, Brianna Vidé continues

Clémence Delavoipière was é dominated in the first round of repechage by the Hungarian Zsuzsanna Krajnyak 15th &agrav; 4. Brianna Video continues his journey in the repechage after having eliminated Nino Tibilashvili 15-5.

Many French people are back on the road this afternoon from 1:30 p.m., with big ambitions. From 1:30 p.m. Elie de Carvalho accompanied of Mickaël Guichard have big ambitions in tandem B. Next will follow Dorian Foulon in classification C5, Kevin le Cunff and Gatien le Rousseau in C4, Thomas Peyroton-Dartet in C3 and Anne-Sophie Centis accompanied by Elise Delzenne in tandem B. The first medals of the day came from the road time trial with a new title for Alexandre Láautá, a second place for Heáiuml;di Gaugain and a bronze medal for Florian Jouanny. In the same classification as Heáiuml;di Gaugain, Marie Patouillet finished fifth while Anaáiuml;s Vincent took the same place in the Handbike H1 áagrave; 3.

12:20 – Hard results in wheelchair fencing

Only one Frenchman is still in the running in the main wheelchair fencing draw out of the five present this morning. It is Damien Tokatlian in foil category A. If the French Brianna Vidá and Clémence Delavoipiáre came up against stronger opponents in the round of 16, it was a close call for Ludovic Lemoine against the Italian Matteo Betti. Finally, a big disappointment for Maxime Valet, beaten 15-8 in the quarter-finals by the Chinese Daoliang Hu.

12:13 – Maxime Valet beaten

The Frenchman was aiming for a medal in the wheelchair foil category B, but at best he will get bronze after his elimination in the quarter-finals 15-8 against Doaliang Hu. He goes into the repechage.

12:04 – Flora Vautier eliminated

Facing the reigning vice-world champion Sandra Mikolaschek was in the match but she was unable to conclude on the important points and lost 11-7 13-11 12-10 in the quarter-finals of para table tennis. Another chance at a medal is gone.

Çit gets complicated for the Frenchwoman, who loses the second set 13-11 despiteé two set points and finds herself on the brink of elimination in the quarter-finals.

Difficult start for the Frenchwoman, who drops the first set 11-7 against the German Sandra Mikolaschek.

The objective for these 2024 Paralympic Games is quite high for the French delegation, which hopes to break all records, as for the Olympic Games.  "The goal is mainly gold medals, because that's what counts most in the ranking of nations," recalls Marie-Amélie Le Fur. "[…] I was asked if this wasn't a discounted ambition compared to the Olympic top 5. But we had so much lost in performance, we've come a long way. We were 14th in Tokyo; aiming for the top 8 means doubling the number of gold medals, so a real ambition,'' said Marie-Am&eacutelie Le Fur, president of the French Paralympic Committee. As a reminder, in 2021, the French Paralympic delegation won 54 medals, including eleven Olympic titles.
