New day of the Paralympic Games this Monday, September 2nd with several gold medals that have fallen.

  • What a prolific day for the French delegation! The day began with the bronze medal of Lucas Mazur and Faustine Noël before the festival in para triathlon. Jules Ribstein opened the counter with the Paralympic title in the PTS2 category before Rigaudeau's silver medal in PTVI and Perel's bronze in the same category. Highly anticipated, Alexis Hanquinquant achieved a perfect race to be crowned in PTS4.
  • In boccia, Aurélie Aubert was crowned Paralympic champion by achieving a feat for the first medal in the history of boccia.
  • A little later in the evening, we will follow the singles finals of para badminton with Mazur and Noakes who can conclude a crazy day.

While the Frenchman had come back to one set all, Sylvain Noël lost the next two sets and will not go through to the quarter-finals.

Alexis Hanquinquant now has 51 seconds after the first five kilometers of cycling, while Grégoire Berthon came back to less than ten seconds behind the Briton Michael Taylor for second place.

Antoine Perel accompanied by Yohann Le Berre and Thibaut Rigaudeau accompanied by Cyril Viennot are currently 1st and 4th, in a group of four at the time of the transition to the running race.

In the PTVI para triathlon, the Frenchwoman and her guide are currently third when it comes to cycling.

12:15 – Antoine Perel in the lead after swimming

In the PTVI para triathlon, Antoine Perel and his guide Yohan le Berre are in head after the first part of the event and set off for cycling. The second Frenchman Thibaut Rigaudeau is sixth at the moment.

12:10 – Ça passes for France

The blue relay, like all the others, can breathe. Third place is validated while the Czech Republic is disqualified.

12:06 – Still no final result

The results of the second series, that of France, are still pending while the relay handovers are reviewed at the video.

12:02 – The French mixed relay in the final

The job is done for the mixed 4x100m medley relay which finishes third and fourth time in the heats. They will play for a medal tonight.

The Frenchman is in the running to reach a quarter-final in singles in his classification. He lost the first set 12-10 against the Spaniard Miguel Angel Toledo.

11:35 – No final for Solène Sache

Solène Sache finished with the ninth time in the SB4 100m breaststroke heats, and did not advance to the final.

11:28 – Cécile Saboureau 6th à arrival

La Française finishes at sixth place in the para triathlon classification PTS2.

11:24 – Assya Maurin Espiau qualified

The Frenchwoman did the job in the series to qualify for the final of the 100m SB14 classification with the 5th time.

11:18 – Nicolas Savant-Aira qualified

The Frenchwoman won 3-0 in his eighth final of para table tennis against the Argentinian Elias Romero.

The goal for these 2024 Paralympic Games is quite high for the French delegation, which hopes to break all records, as for the Olympic Games.  "The goal is mainly gold medals, because that's what counts most in the ranking of nations," recalls Marie-Amélie Le Fur. "[…] I was asked if this wasn't a discounted ambition compared to the Olympic top 5. But we had so much lost in performance, we've come a long way. We were 14th in Tokyo; aiming for the top 8 means doubling the number of gold medals, so a real ambition,'' said Marie-Am&eacutelie Le Fur, president of the French Paralympic Committee. As a reminder, in 2021, the French Paralympic delegation won 54 medals, including eleven Olympic titles.
