New day at the Paralympic Games with once again great medals expected for para cycling

The Essentials

• After another crazy day and 11 medals, the French delegation hopes to bring back many more medals this Friday, September 6. In para cycling, we will notably follow Kévin Le Cunff, Dorian Foulon in the men's as well as Heidi Gaugain and Marie Patouillet in the women's. Elie de Carvalho will also be involved.
• For the rest of the day, we will follow Nathan Petit in para judo or Houdet and Cattaneo for the bronze medal match in wheelchair tennis Roland-Garros.
• The previous Tokyo Games record of 54 medals has been broken. The French delegation now has 61 medals.

France has once again sent the tide into a panic the medal counters with 11 new trinkets for the French delegation. 

• Para athletics: Timothée Adolphe and his guide Charles Renard in silver
• Para cycling: Florian Jouanny and Mathieu Bosredon in gold, Loïc Vergnaud and Johan Quaile in silver
• Para fencing: Maxime Valet, Damien Tokatlian and Ludovic Lemoine in bronze by team
• Para judo: Sandrine Martinet
• Para swimming: Ugo Didier in silver, Hector Denayer and Laurent Chardard in bronze
• Para shooting: Jean-Louis Michaud in bronze

In blind football, Brazil and Argentina were separated on penalties and at This game was won by the Argentinians.

Nantenin Keïta was today the last French representative in the Paralympic events. She magnificently closed this Thursday, September 5, rich in 11 medals with his qualification in the final of the 400 m T13.

Daniel Pembroke breaks the world record once again with 74.49 m. The Briton is even getting closer to his old able-bodied record.

Ça ét&eacute tough for Nantenin Keita who managed to qualify directly for the final of the 400m category T13. She finished 3rd in 57.67, a position therefore directly qualifying for the final.

Daniel Pembroke broke the world record in 71m15. He provisionally takes first place in the competition.

After a very prolific day yesterday, France is back with 11 more medals in 24 hours. The Blues are having a great time at these Paralympic Games.

With this new bronze, it is the 61st French medal in these Paralympic Games.

Maxime Valet, Damien Tokatlian and Ludovic Lemoine end this day with a medal around their neck, the bronze. The French came to end of the Italians 45-36.

The objective for these 2024 Paralympic Games is quite high for the French delegation, which hopes to break all records, as for the Olympic Games.  "The goal is mainly gold medals, because that's what counts most in the ranking of nations," recalls Marie-Amélie Le Fur. "[…] I was asked if this wasn't a discounted ambition compared to the Olympic top 5. But we had so much lost in performance, we've come a long way. We were 14th in Tokyo; aiming for the top 8 means doubling the number of gold medals, so a real ambition,'' said Marie-Am&eacutelie Le Fur, president of the French Paralympic Committee. As a reminder, in 2021, the French Paralympic delegation won 54 medals, including eleven Olympic titles.
