  • The Paralympic Games continue on Wednesday, September 4. Para cycling on the road returns, with the time trials and the medals arrived early this morning with Heidi Gaugain in silver and Alexandre Léauté in gold before Jouanny's bronze. We are also expecting Kevin Le Cunff, Dorian Foulon and Mathieu Bosredon who are aiming for gold. Dimitri Pavadé also wants to shine in the long jump. The program is also loaded in para tennis, notably with Stéphane Houdet, in para swimming, with Kylian Portal, or in para table tennis with the semi-final of Fabien Lamirault.
  • Yesterday, Laurent Chardard, in the 50 m butterfly (S6), Ugo Didier, in the 100 m backstroke (S9), and Alex Portal, in the 200 m medley (SM13), set the pool alight with a bronze medal and two silvers. Matéo Bohéas gleaned bronze in para table tennis (MS10).

With Alexandre Léauté's gold medal, the Tokyo record has already been broken for the French delegation with 12 titles in total and it's not over yet!

“For me, it's great to do these events in Seine-Saint-Denis! Of course, it would have been great to do it in the nice Parisian neighborhoods, but let's say that depending on the neighborhood, we didn't have the same privileges. Maybe it will help some people discover para-sport and their children or loved ones will be able to get into sport, without their disability being a hindrance. I think it's “great to go and show para-sport to all populations” explained the Frenchwoman after the time trial.

He did it! The Frenchman is crowned Paralympic champion in the C2 time trial! He beat Belgian Vromant by two seconds to win his second title.

The objective for these 2024 Paralympic Games is quite high for the French delegation, which hopes to break all records, as for the Olympic Games.  "The goal is mainly gold medals, because that's what counts most in the ranking of nations," recalls Marie-Amélie Le Fur. "[…] I was asked if this wasn't a discounted ambition compared to the Olympic top 5. But we had so much lost in performance, we've come a long way. We were 14th in Tokyo; aiming for the top 8 means doubling the number of gold medals, so a real ambition,'' said Marie-Am&eacutelie Le Fur, president of the French Paralympic Committee. As a reminder, in 2021, the French Paralympic delegation won 54 medals, including eleven Olympic titles.
