David Foulon's withdrawal from the team sprint (para-cycling on the track) was not at all appreciated by his partner Alexandre L'autéeacute;. For the Paralympic C2 pursuit champion, it was rather the fact that Foulon decided too early three weeks ago not to show up for this event in order to focus on the road time trial which is not going well“Three weeks ago, someone decided and abandon us. We must respect even if he knows what we think.” The interested party responded with more diplomacy “It was a tough choice, I didn't want to penalize the team. Psychologically, I know it's complicated “to chain”

The goal for these 2024 Paralympic Games is quite high for the French delegation, which hopes to break all records, as for the Olympic Games. "The goal is mainly gold medals, because that's what counts most in the ranking of nations," recalls Marie-Amélie Le Fur. "[…] I was asked if this wasn't a discounted ambition compared to the Olympic top 5. But we had so much lost in performance, we've come a long way. We were 14th in Tokyo; aiming for the top 8 means doubling the number of gold medals, so a real ambition,'' said Marie-Amélie Le Fur, president of the French Paralympic Committee. As a reminder, in 2021, the French Paralympic delegation won 54 medals, including eleven Olympic titles.
