LIVE. Paralympic Games 2024: silver and bronze for Peyroton-Dartet and Léauté in para-cycling, Boullé in bronze! Live

This Saturday, the day started with two more medals for para-cycling.

  • Among the results of this Saturday, Thomas Peyroton-Dartet was adorned with silver. Alexandre Léauté had to settle for a second bronze medal in these 2024 Paralympic Games. The para-kayaker, Rémy Boullé won bronze in KL1. In para-table tennis, Lucas Didier qualified for the final by beating the Australian Ma Lin. He ensures, at worst, the silver medal. Nantenin Keïta failed' &agrav; sixth place in the 400m final.
  • This Saturday, on the program: in judo, Helios Latchoumanaya will be the chance for the first French title in the discipline with a final scheduled for around 3:30 p.m. Jason Gandry and Cyril Jonard also have medal chances. Lucas Didier will face Belgian Laurens Devos in the MS9 para-table tennis final. In wheelchair fencing, in the team épée, France reached the semi-finals after its victory in the quarter-finals against the Hong Kong team. Brianna Vide offered a final relay of great quality and exulted at the same time as the Grand Palais.

In wheelchair fencing, nothing is yet decided in this team quarter-final. France has just caught up with 38-38 in a highly charged Grand Palais.

Before the last two relays of wheelchair fencing by teams in l'épéée, the French are led by three touches by the Hong Kongers.

In wheelchair fencing, the French para-fencing athletes are once again behind in this quarter-final. They are down by one touch but anything is still possible with three relays to go.

“I don't realize it. Honestly, I was going to be defeatist against him, I don't even know what happened. I was very nervous at the beginning because I knew he was “stronger than me,” Lucas Didier explained to France Télévisions after winning his semi-final in para table tennis.

The French para-judoka lost her repechage fight and will therefore not be able to compete for the bronze medal in these 2024 Paralympic Games.

It is a more reassuring fight than the first. Helios Latchoumanaya pushes aside the Brazilian in para-judo and joins the -90kg final. She will be followed during the afternoon session which begins at 3:30 p.m.

The big favorite in his category in para-judo is on the tatami for a place in the final. He faces the Brazilian Marcelo Adriano Casanova. 

11:44 – Didier's final at 5 p.m.

The French para-table tennis player will meet the Belgian Laurens Devos in the para-table tennis final of these 2024 Paralympic Games at 5 p.m. We have already can't wait to be there as the atmosphere for his semi-final was so great.

Here we go too quickly for the Frenchman who lost on ippon against Moldvae Ion Basoc. He will fight for bronze later in the day.

In para-judo, Jason Grandry will try to secure his place in the final of the 2024 Paralympic Games with a fight against Moldovan Ion Basoc.

11:33 – Two sets each in para-table tennis!

Once again Lucas Didier reacts and comes back to two sets each in a great atmosphere. The place in the final of the Paralympic Games will be decided in a fifth and final set.

11:26 – Didier leads again

Ma Lin won the third set and now leads two sets to one against the French Lucas Didier in this semi-final of the para-table tennis. 

In para-kayak, Rémy Boullé finished third in the final in KL1 and will have to settle for the bronze medal in these 2024 Paralympic Games. 

11:17 – Lucas Didier returns to one set all!

The French para-table tennis player is back in full swing in this table tennis semi-final by winning the second set against Ma Lin. He won 11-9.

Two more medals in para-cycling! Thomas Peyroton-Dartet and Alexandre Léauté won silver and bronze in the C1-C3 race. These medals almost have a bitter taste when the Blues were in the lead digital.

The goal for these 2024 Paralympic Games is quite high for the French delegation, which hopes to break all records, as for the Olympic Games.  "The goal is mainly gold medals, because that's what counts most in the ranking of nations," recalls Marie-Amélie Le Fur. "[…] I was asked if this wasn't a discounted ambition compared to the Olympic top 5. But we had so much lost in performance, we've come a long way. We were 14th in Tokyo; aiming for the top 8 means doubling the number of gold medals, so a real ambition,'' said Marie-Am&eacutelie Le Fur, president of the French Paralympic Committee. As a reminder, in 2021, the French Paralympic delegation won 54 medals, including eleven Olympic titles.
