Mission accomplished for Léon Marchand who qualified for both finals of the 200m butterfly and breaststroke this Tuesday, July 30.
The essentials
Frenchman Leon Marchand strolled through his 200m butterfly semi-final to reach the final, as did Hungarian Milak in the second semi-final. He also qualified a little later in the 200m breaststroke final with the same ease. Emma Terebo and Beryl Gastaldello, entered in the 100m backstroke final, could not do anything by finishing 7th and 8th, as did David Aubry in the 800m. The French 4x200m relay did not achieve the feat of taking a medal.
Maxime Grousset qualified. in charge of the 100m freestyle final from the start of this session by posting the 4th time. Beryl Gastaldello and Marie Wattel did not qualify.

22:35 – A mixed evening!
Lined up in two semi-finals this evening, Léon Marchand responded in the 200m butterfly and the 200m breaststroke. In races that he dominated and then managed, the prodigy of French swimming qualified for the two finals that he will compete in on Wednesday evening at La Défense Arena. When are the swimming events at the Olympic Games ?
The swimming events will begin on Saturday, July 27, with the first medals awarded in the evening, with the finals of the 400 meters and 4x100m freestyle. The events will take place over nine days, until Sunday, August 4.
