The route promises to be grandiose and exciting. After sprints in the Netherlands, the peloton will head to the grounds of the Amstel Gold Race and the Doyenne des Classiques Liège Bastogne Liège. The final stages promise a grand finale with a decisive battle in the Alps, starting with a stage at Le Grand-Bornand and its 3,100 metres of positive elevation gain. The next day, the queen stage of 150 km will take them from the Col du Glandon to the legendary ascent of Alpe d'Huez. Demi Vollering, at home for this start, seems untouchable. The defending champion is the big favourite to succeed her own title. This season, she has won the Vuelta, the Tour of the Basque Country, the Tour of Burgos and the Tour of Switzerland… Basically, all the races she has participated in. Without Lotte Kopecky, the suspense should not be very great.
