It's official, Louane is France's candidate for Eurovision 2025. More than ten years after her participation in The Voice, the young woman is getting ready to shine in Basel, Switzerland. On Saturday, February 1, she spoke at this regarding the 8pm news on France 2.

Questioned by Laurent Delahousse about her participation, Esmée's mother revealed that she accepted “just before Christmas”. If she had refused to participate in Eurovision in the past, she finally changed her mind. “It's a very important moment, it's not a decision to be taken lightly”, she explained.

Louane wants to pay tribute to a loved one

By agreeing to participate in Eurovision, Louane wants to pay “a form of tribute” to her mother, died of cancer in 2014. The singer revealed that the competition held an important place in her family. “It's something that rocked my childhood and that my mother was absolutely a fan of. She dreamed of it, so I see it as a tribute. I hope I make her proud especially”, she said. 

If Louane's mother won't be there to see her on stage, there's no doubt she would have been very proud of her daughter's participation. Florian Rossi's fiancée is all the more honored to represent France, because it is the “country that welcomed [her] mother”.

The singer shares tender confidences about her mother

A few days before testifying on the France 2 news, Louane had has already mentioned her desire to make her mother proud. Indeed, she made her participation in Eurovision official on Thursday, January 30 by revealing a video on Instagram. Her fans were able to discover photos tracing her life.

In voiceover, the actress from La famille Bélier held to personally address his mother. “You dreamed of seeing me there, mom, without ever knowing that it could happen one day (…) So, you know what ? I'm going to do it for us, I'm going to do it for our dreams, I'm going to represent France at Eurovision”, she said. Very touching confidences.
