The end of a week full of announcements, Apple announced its new MacBook Pro equipped with M4 chips , M4 Pro and M4 Max.
After making a number of announcements about Apple Intelligence and the Mac mini M4, Apple ended its week with a bang. unveiling its brand new MacBook Pro. The latter is offered with two different configurations depending on the chip you choose: the M4, M4 Pro or M4 Max. The latter res promise a power gain over the last generation of M3 chips.

Côté design, the MacBook Pro M4 is no different from its predecessor. The two computers can be placed side by side and you won't see any changes. The new features are, however, very present, but to look at the inside of the machine.
First of all, the MacBook Pro now has an M4, M4 Pro or M4 Max chip depending on the configuration you select when purchasing. In its official press release, Apple announces that the M4 Pro chip is up to 4-5 times faster than the M1 chip on certain applications. It notably highlights advanced software such as Maxon Redshift for 3D rendering or MATLAB for numerical calculations. Not really software intended for the general public then. The M4 Max chip is, as for it, the most powerful Apple chip to date and allows in particular great performances on software like Final Cut Pro for editing in 4/8K and 120 images per second.

The MacBook Pro M4 features new technology for its Liquid Retina XDR display that significantly reduces reflections and disturbances that can occur. This allows you to enjoy the MacBook Pro M4 more effectively, even when you use it outdoors in direct sunlight.
The MacBook Pro's 12MP webcam also evolves and now includes “Center Stage” technology, which tracks the user as they move in front of the computer. Ideal if you're fidgeting or presenting something in front of your MacBook Pro M4.
Finally, the MacBook Pro M4 features 5th generation Thunderbolt ports for faster data transfer speeds of up to 120GB/s. Something to help professionals who regularly need to transfer large files or folders between their MacBook and an external hard drive.

The MacBook Pro M4 is available for pre-order from Wednesday, October 30 on the official Apple website. Its release date is estimated at Friday, November 8, 2024.
