Her death has plunged the world of cuisine into mourning. On the night of December 20-21, Maïté died at the age of 86. The well-known restaurateur from the small screen passed away in the retirement home of her hometown, Rion-des-Landes. Five days later, her funeral took place in the town.
Born on June 2, 1938, Maïté real name Marie-Thérèse Ordonez, éwas famous for having hosted many &cooking shows. On the private side, she got married at the age of 21 with Jean-Pierre Ordonez known as “Pierrot”, then a road mender at the SNCF.

Despite this scathing remark, Maïté had in reality taking affectionfor her son's wife. Géraldine thus remembered with nostalgia: “She has always considered me as her own daughter”. A beautiful relationship with the one who later allowed her to become a grandmother with the birth of her two granddaughters, Perrine and Camille.
Maïté's family has been affected by a terrible tragedy. Indeed, according to Paris Match, her son Serge was taken away by cancer in March 2008. He was 48 years old at the time. A death that deeply upset the author of culinary works. “À Serge's death, Maïté only dressed in black, or gray” revealed her daughter-in-law.
For their part, Perrine and Camille remember seeing their grandmother cry for the first time. However, they wanted to clarify: “She never had the depression that the newspapers talked about. Çit was very exaggerated, even if it was a real drama. She supported us a lot, our mother and us”. A few years later, her husband Pierrot died in turn. Maïté, affected by Alzheimer's disease, then joined the retirement home where she ended her days.
