Man falls from Pont-Vieux in Alès in the middle of the night

A fifty-year-old man fell into the Gardon after falling from the Alès bridge very early this Sunday, January 5.

The fall happened around 3:30 in the morning this Sunday, January 5. For reasons that remain unclear at this time, a 50-year-old man fell from the Pont-Vieux in Alès and ended up in the Gardon.

Prognosis not in danger

When help arrived, the fifty-year-old was on the banks of the river. Since he was on a part of the bank that was difficult to access, the firefighters called on members of their hazardous environment intervention group to evacuate him.

The injured man was transported to Alès hospital by help and a team from the Smur, also on site. His prognosis is not in danger.
