A man was seriously injured on New Year's Day morning on Avenue de l'Europe in Castelnau-le-Lez. Two people were arrested in the aftermath by the police. One of them is suspected of having stabbed him. She is due to appear before the investigating judge appointed as part of a judicial investigation this Friday.

The end of New Year's Eve proved to be very lively this Wednesday morning on Avenue de l'Europe in Castelnau-le-Lez. Around 6:30 a.m., an altercation took place between three men on the road. One of them took out a knife and used it several times. The victim, another man, was very seriously injured and is still hospitalized this Friday even though his life is no longer in danger.

“Attempted homicide”

Following this attack, two men were arrested by the company's gendarmes who are considering attempted homicide. Their initial investigations have cleared one of these people of any responsibility. The second, the alleged perpetrator of the stabbing, must however be presented this Friday before the investigating judge appointed after the opening of a judicial investigation by the public prosecutor's office.

Against the background of alcohol

The precise motives for this violent attack have not yet been determined. The only certainty is that it occurred against a background of heavy alcohol consumption.
