Manure in front of the OFB in Mende: the words of an agent provoke the anger of the Young Farmers

The comments made by an agent of the French Office for Biodiversity on France Inter, Wednesday January 15, 2025, did not go unnoticed in the agricultural world. He declared: “Today, we have the feeling that what farmers want is to see us more on their farms. It's the same as if dealers asked the police to stop coming to the estates to prevent dealing.” Representative of the Snape FO union, he reacted in this way to the Prime Minister's remarks before the National Assembly.

“They despise us”

Neither one nor two; in Lozère, farmers took their tractors to come and deposit manure in front of the OFB premises in Mende. Although no one seems to have seen them, their passage was marked by banners and flags bearing the Young Farmers logo, found on Thursday morning.

Hervé Boudon, president of JA Lozère, confirmed that his union was at the origin of this act of protest: “We are reacting to the remarks made by this OFB agent who likened farmers to dealers. We have been looked down upon for a long time and have been denouncing this disdain on the part of the OFB. We just want the OFB to let us work.”

On site, the OFB director specified that the action would require cleaning, but that nothing had been damaged.
