Several festive and gastronomic events allow you to discover the tuber melanosporum, starting with the Truffle Weekend in Uzès from January 17 to 19.
Last year, more than 100 kg of truffles were sold for between €900 and €1,200. It should be noted that the Gard has 500 truffle growers and a production of three to five tonnes.
For the Uzège event, consumers will enjoy the discovery day in Aubussargues on Friday January 17, with the winemaker evening the same evening at L’Ombrière d’Uzès. On Saturday, January 18, a cooking class on truffles with a star chef will delight gourmets, not forgetting La Nuit de la truffe at l’Ombrière.
Bodega evenings
Guests will enjoy the meal prepared by star chefs from Gard, while others will enjoy the bodega evening at Les Herbes. The next day, in the same place, a festive day will allow you to discover many flavors again.
The truffle will also be celebrated in Nîmes, Place du Marché, from January 31 to February 2, as well as in Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie with a bodega evening on Saturday February 10 and a day dedicated to this production the following day.
