More than 30 years after the death of Serge Gainsbourg, his last partner has decided to confide. Indeed, on November 7, Bambou released her autobiography entitled Pas à pas dans la nuit (Ed. XO). In this book, the 65-year-old woman evokes her childhood, her meeting with the singer, but also the birth of their son Lucien Gainsbourg. 

The one who was only five years old when his father died was then éraised by his mother, with whom he shares a close relationship. “I ’educated Lulu as Serge would have wanted, with values, the conservatory, the piano…” she confided in an interview with Figaro.

Marc Lavoine helped Lulu Gainsbourg à change her name

À In the fall of 2007, Lulu was accepted to Berklee College of Music. He wanted to become a professional musician, composer and arranger. When it was time to apply, the young boy decided to send his application under the name of Lulu Gainsbourg. “He didn't like his official name, Lucien Ginzburg” told Bambou.

The one who is called “Mushka” by her son then helped her son to change his last name. She was also able to count on the support of a famous singer. “Marc Lavoine knew Dominique de Villepin. Lulu was able to change her name on the family record book urgently” she explained. A nice gesture that allowed him to officially become Lucien Gainsbourg.

Despite her father's absence, Lulu has never lacked anything thanks to her mother. Charlotte Gainsbourg's half-brother has thus discovered India and Japan with her. During his vacations in Los Angeles, he also got closer to a well-known singer: Vanessa Paradis.

Bambou thus recounted that the interpreter of Joe le taxi has become “his other little mother”. In 2011, Lulu had moreover explained to the Parisian that she had “always reminded him of the very endearing side of [his] mother”. The musician had finally indicated that he considered Johnny Depp as his “big brother”. A friendship very precious for someone who has released no less than four albums since the beginning of his career.
