Marine & Company brings its expertise to all boats

Pierre Bertrand, Dorothée Lopez and Basile Rivera.

The shipyard Marine & compagnie, former company of Michel Rezé (read in Midi Libre of last December 8), has found two associate buyers: Pierre Bertrand and Basile Rivera since the end of last October.

Both are passionate about boats of all kinds and after strong professional experiences in the automobile industry for Pierre Bertrand and in river navigation for Basile Rivera, they decided in turn to take up the torch of this recognized company. “We are true enthusiasts of sailing and motor boats in the recreational marine sector. With experience in both electrical and plumbing and maintenance, we respond to any request to satisfy our customers. For the wooden restoration part, the former owner keeps his customers”, explain the two partners.

The core business of Marine & compagnie will be the mechanics of all types of boats, the careening, handling and storage of ships in the summer and for longer periods in the winter. Basile Rivera's 5 years of experience in the river sector brings real skills on barge-type vessels. The company has a fairly unique system in this sector called cradles to remove large flat-bottomed boats from the water, over 10 meters and around 7 tons, for repairs or maintenance. This very old system, according to photo archives, was in place at least 100 years ago, probably installed here due to its proximity to the locks.

“We have also planned developments on the land, the revision and installation of pontoons, the renovation of a room that will be used for the maintenance of the dry engines. This project is a great opportunity and we want to keep the spirit with a construction site and a service with a human vocation”, conclude the partners.
